Stuck for ideas on what to do on a rainy day? Going to a soft play centre can be a great outing – the kids can run off lots of energy and parents can get the chance to grab a cuppa too! Trampoline parks and indoor climbing centres are great option too. Here’s our roundup of some of the best soft plays, indoor climbing centres and trampoline parks in Surrey.
Surrey Soft Play Centres
Gym Jams (Guildford)
Gym Jams is a traditional style soft play for babies and toddlers from0-3 years old. Situated in Normandy, Guildford everything is plan, no cages, and all areas visible. Here’s my Gym Jams Review
Pirates Landing (Camberley)
With both a large multi storey play frame with 4 lane wavy slide and a dedicated soft play for younger ones, this is a great all rounder. Find out more in my Pirates Landing Camberley soft play review.
Specky’s Pirate Ship Soft Play (Guildford)
Designed as a pirate ship, Specky’s Pirate Ship at Guildford Spectrum is a four storey soft play area that has a lot for the children to explore. Read my Specky’s Pirate Ship Soft Play Review here.
Wacky Kingdom (Kingston)
Newly opened in October 2022, Wacky Kingdom is the new kids on the soft play block! Conveniently located in the Bentalls Centre the new soft play centre has a 3 storey play frame all enclosed with netting, and lots of engaging obstacles spread out over the floors. Chobham Adventure Farm has a great indoor play area with an impressive mixture of high slides for older children and the multi-level soft play structure, with a large array of challenges to overcome. They also have a second play area dedicated to 3 years and under.
Did you know that the biggest softplay in Surrey is based here at Godstone Farm. Spread over 4 floors and an impressive 7 slides, a separate area for babies, and a further area for toddlers too. If that’s not enough to occupy the children then there is a whole floor dedicated to role play too.
Bouncy Bugs at Lightwater Leisure Centre
Bouncing Bugs soft play runs every Monday and Wednesday 10am-11.30am. The children can enjoy the bouncy castle, ride on toys, Dressing up, drawing, arts & crafts, soft play, slide and various other toys spread around the hall. Do check the Lightwater Leisure Centre Facebook page for updates as it doesn’t always run and the leisure centre website doesn’t seem to include it!
At the stay & play sessions you can go along and play, jump and climb with your little ones in their fully functional Gymnastics club. They have a sprung floor, sprung tumble track, built in trampoline, foam pit, Bouncy castle, inflatable air track, soft play equipment and much more. Check out my review here
Kidspace in Croydon has a multi-layered, enormous play frame to explore, plus a large dedicated Toddler Village too. This is more of an indoor adventure park than a traditional soft play.
Newly opened in mid Nov 2022, The Secret Garden Playroom in Guildford is perfect for little ones with it’s small play frame and interactive boards on the wall.
Run-About is based at The Challenge Centre in Farnborough and offers a good variety in this mid sized soft play.
360 Play Farnborough is more of an indoor entertainment venue for kids. It has a large 3 level soft play, small world role play village, messy play and the unlimited fairgrounds rides are included in entry too.
Munchkins Play Cafe (Byfleet)
Munchkins Play Cafe is a fun and friendly soft play cafe with a two level adventure play area for under 5’s. They also have a separate baby area for under 1’s and an imaginative play room for those who love imaginative play.
The Mucky Cow Play Cafe (Chobham)
The Mucky Cow Play Cafe is a space for little ones to have fun, parents to relax, meeting new friends and having that quality time together as a family!
Kidabulous (Sunbury-on-Thames)
Kidabulous indoor soft play centre in Sunbury-on-Thames features a huge 4 storey play frame for kids up to 12 years old that actively encourages adventure and discovery! There’s a 6-metre high spiral slide, plus a 4-lane astra slide to race friends down.
Active Monkeys (Fleet)
This is a 3 story playframe, and although it’s not the most up to date soft play we’ve been to, we still had plenty of fun. There is a double slide which is great as means you can slide down with your little ones, there are various soft play blocks to climb under and over. Toddler climbing wall and more. If your looking for a trampoline park with has a large selection of sessions to cater for all age groups and abilities then check out Air Hop in Guildford. Small World Role Play
Roll play villages and pop up events are great for younger kids. They have a lot of imaginative play fun and it’s a great learning experience too.
Alongside the soft play and fairground rides, 360 Play in Farnborough also have a role play village. Visit each room with different accessories and dress up clothes.
Little Street (Frimley, Camberley)
The indoor role play centre has a variety of themed rooms, scaled down to be the perfect size for little people and lots of attention to detail with miniature version accessories perfect for imaginative play. We loved the selection of ride ons too.
Little Street (West Byfleet)
There is no better place for children to play make believe and support their imagination than Little Street children’s role play centres. At the play centres they have a variety of themed rooms, which are the perfect size for little people, and carefully designed and filled with props to offer a creative and educational play experience.
Kidabulous (Sunbury on Thames)
There’s a whole floor dedicated to little ones at this huge soft play in Sunbury on Thames. Toddler town has lots to do including a lovely little role play village.
