Munchkins Play Cafe is a welcome addition to Byfleet and something the town is needing. A space for little ones to have fun, parents to relax, meeting new friends and having that quality time together as a family!
Munchkins is a fun and friendly soft play cafe with a two level adventure play area for under 5’s. They also have a separate baby area for under 1’s and an imaginative play room for those who love imaginative play.
Open daily from 9.30am till 4.00pm during the week and 9am-12pm at the weekends. Each session is for 2 hours and there is also an on-site cafe where you can grab a much needed coffee and a slice of cake. The family friendly cafe is perfect as you can view the whole play area when seated.
When you walk in you are greeted by a wonderfully decorated room with lots of added extras aside from the play frame itself. There is a side room where there are some role playing equipment such as an ice cream truck and a supermarket tile, there is also an incredible train table which captures everyone’s attention.
If you are also looking for a quiet sit down there is an area where you can sit quietly and read a book, or even do some arts and crafts which had been laid out.
There is a separate area for the smaller children which had soft play blocks, a couple of air hoppers, a large mirror for them to look into, and also on the wall was a hide and seek window where hidden behind it was different objects. There was also various baby toys around for them to play with.
The main feature to Munchkins Play Cafe is the climbing frame itself which is a fully enclosed play frame for the children to explore but also large enough for adults to climb in and supervise children if need be. The lower area has a ball pit for them to explore and literally swim in the balls. On the upper level there are soft play items to crawl on and over, and a bubble window they can peep through. On this level is also the slide.
The playframe isn’t overly large but Isabella was confident enough to explore this on here own, and was easily accessible for a non confident walker too.
There is plenty of free off street parking available. The closest being directly outside on the slip road or there is also free parking at the Byfleet Recreation Ground which is like a 2 minute walk.
Munchkins Play Cafe is run by mother and daughter and you certainly do get that family feel when you arrive. Everyone is so welcoming and the delicious treats have even been cooked by Mum too. You can tell that they have thought about everything you may need or require in a soft play centre and they have covered this and more.
We are very excited about coming back to play again, the location is perfect and something the town has been lacking in. After your visit to Munchkins there is a great play park which is a 2 minute walk away – Byfleet Recreation Ground.
