Rise & Flour Cafe in the Cotswolds exudes charm and serves up delicious breakfast, brunch, lunch and sweet treats. Plenty of gluten free options too.
The artisan sourdough bakery and patisserie is found at the up and coming Alfred Grove Yard in Milton-under-Wycwhood, right in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. It’s not far from Chipping Norton and stomping grounds of Jeremy Clarkson with his nearby farm shop.
The charming cafe is spread over a couple of rooms with a few tables outside too, blending modern touches with Cotswold chic.
I met up with a friend for a good catch up over brunch. She had smashed avocado heaped. on sourdough with feta, poacked eggs, basil, pea, cashew and pesto. I went simple and return to a childhood favourite of eggs and soldiers which in my family we always call dippy eggs.
The perfect boiled eggs needs just the right amount of ooze to dip fingers of divine fingers of toasted sourdough into. 10 out of 10 for this gorgeous cafe.

With barista made coffee and a very tempting range of freshly baked pastries and cakes, I have a feeling I’m going to be back soon.
Rise & Flour is situaated in a 350 year old yard which has an electic mix of shops and spaces to explore too from a DIY shop to Fire & Wine which my friend says transforms to a buzzing venue for sourdough woodfired pizzas and wine tasting. Definitely worth a little wander around if you visit.
There’s also a lovely playground diagonally opposite the cafe so you could combine a trip to the park with a treat at the cafe.
