Ripley is a picturesque village in the beautiful Surrey countryside, close to Woking and Guildford. Located in the most idyllic surroundings, the village is bustling with independent shops, delightful places to eat, drink and relax, stunning nature areas, and interesting places to explore.
It has a small children’s play area which is located behind the High Street and opposite the cricket pitch. There is also a free car park right in front of the park which is ideal for the little ones.
On the green there is a large skateboard area which is ideal for the older children to play on, a monkey bar climbing frame, a basket swing, and also a large basketball court area. This is located just next to the younger children’s play area, and is set in the open field.
For the younger children the playground is safely gated so that no escapees can access the car park area. Inside is an array of fun equipment for the children to enjoy which includes, toddler swings, a basket swing, various rockers to sit on, a seasaw, benches for the adults to sit on and watch the children playing safely.
There’s also a low level climbing frame with slide which is ideal for those smaller children, and also a larger climbing frame with separate slide for those more confident. There was also a roundabout but this was closed for repairs when we visited.
Once you have finished in the park there is a large green area which is ideal for kicking a ball about, or letting the children run freely.
Or if you fancy a walk around the countryside there is a 7.5km (5 mile) circular walk from the village of Ripley, taking in Papercourt Reservoir, open fields and a short stretch of the River Wey Navigation.
Every month, Ripley has an award winning Farmers’ Market on the Green. Other well known events throughout the year include the Ripley Event and Ripley Rocks in July, the Ripley Bonfire and Fireworks in late October, the Ripley Christmas Fair in December
