LVS Ascot, an award winning, independent day and boarding school in Berkshire was shortlisted as one of the three nominees for the EdTech Innovation of the Year Award at the National School Awards on 1st December at the prestigious House of Lords.
The National Schools Awards is presented in 8 categories. This year two new categories have been added and LVS Ascot is proud to be nominated under one of them; EdTech Innovation of the Year Award sponsored by Bedrock Learning. The ceremony was proudly powered by the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL) and the Schools & Academies Show.
LVS Ascot implemented a digital transformation across all their academic departments to embrace technology, investing in surface Pro 8s for all students and staff. 85% of the entire school utilise these and have adopted Microsoft’s K-12 education framework. Digital champions have been appointed among the staff to encourage and ensure the use of technology throughout all schemes of work. As a result of this framework pupils contribute actively and group work has increased through the sharing of documents and working on the same piece of work in the classroom and at home in real time.
Pupils can access their learning 24/7 and teachers are able to gain valuable insights into their work. Technology adds to the fun with interaction and opportunities to share knowledge and opinions freely with peers.
Commenting on the shortlisting Bradley Hunt, Assistant Head (Academic) of LVS Ascot said; “EdTech is a part of our digital transformation journey. We are really excited about the opportunities this brings for our pupils and their learning, and the benefits this will bring to enhance the curriculum in years to come. We are incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for this award and look forward to applying again next year.”
