When I was little I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up and to this day I still don’t have a clue… but it’s great to see the little ones using their imagination and having lots of fun role playing.
There is no better place for children to play make believe and support their imagination than Little Street children’s role play centres. At the play centres they have a variety of themed rooms, which are the perfect size for little people, and carefully designed and filled with props to offer a creative and educational play experience. We recently visit Little Street in West Byfleet and have also enjoy a session at Little Street children’s role play centre in Frimley.
At Little Street West Byfleet they feature a medical centre, a supermarket, a construction site, barn, and theatre. Within the road area there are lots of ride on vehicles, including a police car, and a large train where children can be a train driver, conductor or passenger. There is also a fun bbq picnic area and a post office with delivery points around the town.
Soon as we entered Little Street Noah dived straight in and headed for the play train. He had great delight in shovelling the coal into the engine and handing out tickets to his passengers. Isabella opted for the beauty room, pulling up a chair and practicing painting her nails, she was in her element with all the beauty elements on offer.
We loved playing the game of Supermarket sweep, we took the shopping lists and as quickly as we could ran around the supermarket and filled up our trolleys. The shelves were expertly packed with real life replicas of shampoos, food, crisps, fruit and household products. The little ones could relate to these as they are everyday objects that we use at home.
The farm area was a massive hit with Isabella, she loved cuddling the rabbits and chickens, putting them to bed in their cage and bouncing on the hoppers. At home Noah loves to watch his Dad in the garden cooking on the bbq, and his face lit up when he saw he could do just that. Pretending to cook and serve dinner at the picnic table was the highlight of his morning.
The beauty of Little Street is that they offer four play sessions a day and limit the numbers of visitors during those sessions so that each family can get the most out of their play time.
Each play session lasts an hour and a half which is plenty of time for the little ones to play and explore. In between each session the lovely staff put each prop, ride on and dressing up item back in its exact spot, ready for the next set of eager visitors.
Alongside the play area is a cafe area with ample seating, and they offer a selection of both hot and cold drinks as well as snacks and cake. The cafe overlooks the play area, so if your children are old enough and confident enough to play without you by their side, then you could easily sit and enjoy a cup of tea whilst watching them having fun.
