With the River Wey situated just behind Jelley Way Park in Working it is in a beautiful location, and a stroll on a dry day makes it a perfect place for a walk.
The park itself is split into two areas, one I would say is for the younger children, and is safely enclosed by metal railings and a gate so everyone is secure. Inside there are toddler swings, a great caterpillar sea saw which Noah and Isabella absolutely loved. They were fascinated by the caterpillar’s face and his dangly legs.
A wooden roundabout bucket which we all could sit inside, bouncy hoppers, and a little play house with a slide. Isabella loved this house, and was pretend role playing making us dinner and drinks.
Then situated right next to the gated park is an open plan play area. This is all based on grass so check the weather before heading here as when we went it had rained the night before so was a little boggy! Now this part of the park was in Noah’s words – “awesome”.
All of the equipment was wooden, and it was like something you see in books. There was a lot to explore that we didn’t know where to start first. At the back end of the play are was a zip line, although the little ones are too small to hold on themselves they enjoyed sitting on it whilst I ran up and down the zip line area instead (certainly was a workout for me).
There was a climbing wall which had special feet grips where they could position their feet and use it to help pull themselves up. This was such a fun way to burn off energy, and also helped with their gross motor skills aswell, they both had fun racing each other to the top.
The main climbing obstacle in the middle of the park had a play house and a slide, but to get to the top of the tree house there were rope bridges to climb and crawl across. Balancing beams to walk across, and each beam you conquered led to another level of fun.
We love these new types of playgrounds as the children can have lots of fun exploring different levels, can practise there climbing skills, learn to balance, crawl, climb and jump around. It’s a great way of burning off energy, getting some more needed fresh air and also using all of our senses to have fun and enjoy ourselves.
When we visited it was a dry day, but the night before
It had been raining so the ground was very wet and muddy – so maybe pack some wellies just incase as I didn’t realise it was all going to be on grass.
