Go Ape at Alice Holt Forest

If you go down to the woods today, be sure to look up high. As there is a new Go Ape adventure at Alice Holt Forest – Net Adventures. Aimed at younger children aged 4 to 6 years, it’s a unique network of huge treetop nets, bouncing balls and thrilling slides. Have you ever been to a ball pit sky high in the trees?

Noah and Isabella have always watched in amazement whenever we see Go Ape Adventurers, and keep asking when it’s their turn. However based on their ages and heights they haven’t been able to experience it as yet – well that’s until now. This amazing new concept was perfect for our curious duo and we had the best family day here.

Based up high in the skies, it’s like something Spiderman has carefully crafted with his webs. You can’t miss this epic sky playground. When you first arrive it’s like a maze, with different bridges, slides, bouncy areas and even a ball pit – there is so much to explore.

Noah was straight in and literally ran up the stairs to go and explore, I’m sure he was a squirrel in his past life as he was literally zooming around the course. Isabella was a little nervous as she kept thinking she was going to fall. Even though I’m scared of heights, it felt perfectly safe up that high, and you have the security of the netting all around you.

Around the course you have different routes to take, there are wooden stepping stones, balancing beams, and net bridges to climb across. Although designed for the younger children, adults and pre teens can also enjoy this too. It was such a surreal experience being amongst the trees whilst bouncing in nets.

A firm favourite was the floating ball pit, both children absolutely loved this, they were swimming with the balls, bouncing up high with them and diving into them. It was great to watch from below and hear all the giggles. There was also an additional area up high that had giant balls in it, both loved trying to run through and literally bouncing off them.

There is also two very impressive slides, both tunnel styles, and with twists and turns – you zoom back down to ground at mega speed. Although I didn’t go on myself, Noah assured me these were “totally awesome).

Although the majority of the net park is based in nets – like its name. Once up high there are structures observation points where you can fully stand still and still supervise the children. It took me a little while to get used to the sensation of the heights and nets, and these were great for having a little break.

Also if you do need a little rest break  trust me it’s hard being up high and mastering squirrel skills) then there is picnic benches and shaded areas below, so you can always have a pit stop before heading back up high.

This really is a unique experience and from the amount of giggles and laughs we’ve had today, we really do recommend this place.

Remember to bring a picnic on your visit, as after your visit why not spend the rest of the day enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Alice Holt. This really was the best family day out exploring the sunshine.
