Nature Scavenger Hunt at Victoria Baths
11 September, 2020 - 20 September, 2020
FreeFor 2020 Heritage Open Days, Victoria Baths in Greater Manchester are doing something a little different reflecting their theme of Hidden Nature. Don your detective hats and your walking boots; we’re creating a nature-themed, contactless, family friendly scavenger hunt around parts of Ardwick and the surrounding area.
How do I take part?
This is a self-guided scavenger hunt for a series of QR codes that are hidden in and around Victoria Baths. The entire hunt takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete, depending upon your walking speed and how quick you are to decipher the clues and answer the questions. The QR codes will be available from 3pm on Friday 11th September right through to the evening of Sunday 20th September. If you would like to join in, all you need is a mobile phone that can scan QR codes.
Where’s the First Clue?
To start your hunt, head to Victoria Baths where you’ll find the first QR code on the noticeboard at the front of the building; it will give you clues about where to head next! To scan the code, simply open your phone’s camera, and hold it up to the printed tag. Each code will also contain a question that is related to nature – if you answer all these you can win a Victoria Baths goody bag! Get involved and share.
Please be careful This is a self-guided trail of 1.5 miles in an outdoor urban environment that will require moving between hiding places. Please take care around the roads and come wearing appropriate outdoor clothing. All QR codes are hidden in public, accessible spaces – please do not trespass on private property during your search.
