GAME PLAN: BOARD GAMES REDISCOVERED at the Corn Exchange Newbury
7 July, 2021 - 5 September, 2021
Find out what kind of game player you really are when the Game Plan: Board Games Rediscovered exhibition, on loan from the V&A’s Museum of Childhood, comes to The Base this summer.
This interactive exhibition includes some of the most iconic, enthralling and visually striking games from the V&A’s outstanding national collection of board games with more than 100 objects from all around the world. Alongside family favourites such as Cluedo and Trivial Pursuit, and traditional games like chess, the exhibition will look at historical board games including ‘The Game of the Goose’ and other beautifully designed games from the 18th and 19th centuries.
With hands-on activities and the chance to become part of one big interactive game, come and delight in old favourites, and discover what kind of game player you really are…
FUN FOR FAMILIES: Along with picking up playing counters on arrival to enjoy the games tables within, families can also pick up a free activity sheet and hunt for answers all over the building in our game of ‘Clue Search’!
