One of our favourite family places to head to whatever the weather is Chobham Adventure Farm. Its perfect for both my boys of 3 & 9 years and offers a variety of entertainment to keep them active and happy.
Indoor Play
You first enter in to their wonderfully colourful indoor soft play area. This is separated in to two sections by age and ability.
Straight ahead are the impressive mixture of high slides for older children and the multi-level soft play structure, with a large array of challenges to overcome. These include climbing, crawling, swinging and sliding. This particular part is for children over 3 years but I did find my youngest at 3 years needed adult supervision.
There is hand sanitiser available before the children embark on the active adventure and since covid, this has operated a one way system which works well. Shoes are to be removed but socks are to be worn.
As you venture right, there is a smaller soft play area aimed at younger children (babies up to preschoolers)
This offers a more basic play experience but very fun. It has a smaller two level climbing apparatus, a slide and ball pit (unfortunately currently closed) and a large variety of soft climb on toys, bricks and my youngest sons favourite – the red tractor. I found it offered enough to keep my 3 years old son occupied. Shoes are to be removed but socks are to be worn.
This is play area is situated close to the open plan café, the toilets and an exit to the outdoor play space with farm.
The Indoor Cafe
The café offers a wide choice of freshly homemade warm and cold food options as well as tasty cakes and hot drinks. There are simple lunch choices for kids including a picnic box food option.
The outside space at Chobham Adventure Farm is just as impressive as the inside if not more so. From the café door you head out on to a decked area with a large amount of sheltered seating. There is also a sheltered buggy park where you can leave your buggy. Toilets can also be accessed from the outdoor area without having to return inside.
The Animal Barn
Straight ahead is the animal barn with a mixture of farm animals, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and mice.
This is wonderfully laid out offering children close but safe visibility of the animals. There are also sinks available as you leave the area to wash hands. When we have visited in the past, they have offered the chance to groom some of the smaller animals which was wonderful so keep an eye on any special events they have on that day.
Outdoor Adventures
Chobham Adventure Farm has a fantastic outdoor space. With two separate wooden adventure playgrounds – one for slightly older children with a higher, more complex climbing apparatus and zip wires. The other is a smaller play frame with little houses, balancing obstacle courses and a slide.
There also a secret sand play area which children can access through a tunnel or slide down the slides in to the sand. It has another climbing construction style frame. This is a gorgeous additional area which many don’t seem to be aware even exists.
Lastly is the ever popular jumping pillows. This area is open weather dependant but offers a children (and yes, also us adults) a chance to bounce away till their hearts content. This fabulous sand area is by an outdoor refreshment kiosk and also has some wonderful deck chairs for adults and little ones.
Chobham Adventure Farm Booking Tickets
The day is broken in to two play sessions. Morning entry is 10am and afternoon session starts at 1:30pm. Both sessions are 3 hours long. They also have an after school term time entry at 3pm which is a stay and play and eat offer.
Prebooking is essential. Tickets can be booked online at Book Online (chobhamadventurefarm.co.uk) or via there phone line. Each booking has an allocated table which you can choose when booking. These are a mixture of indoor and outdoor tables.
Prices differ for peak and off peak days. They range from free for under 1’s to £15.50 for children 3yrs+
Childminders go free.
There are many features at Chobham Adventure Farm that are well thought out making is super kid friendly. From the little kids door entering in to the toilets and gift shop to the various play areas, little tunnels, mini deckchairs and lovely kid friendly farm area. Being sustainable and carbon neutral is very much on their radar. Once you visit, I guarantee you’ll certainly want to return.
