Are you looking for where the best lambing weekends are in 2024 in the North West?
Spring is such a lovely time of the year, with the long winter nights going, new buds on the trees and best of all, the lambing season. It’s a great experience for kids to visit a farm and be smitten by meeting adorable lambs. There are lots of places around Cheshire, Greater Manchester and throughout North West England to meet newborn lambs. Some places you can even bottle feed lambs or goats.
Here are a selection of the best lambing days around Cheshire and we’ll keep adding more. Some of the farms have lambing everyday and others are just special weekend events. Many places also have other activities going on so you can make it a full fun family day out with the kids.
SPOTLIGHT – COCKFIELDS FARM
Join Cockfields Farm for their Barnyard Baby Bash event! The farm park offers a whole day of excitement including indoor and outdoor play, café, tractor rides, reptile house, and in Feb half-term you’ll be surrounded by newborn lambs, kid goats, chicks, and ducklings, as they get ready for spring!
Farmer talks, bottle-feeding demonstration, and ‘Learn to be a Farmer’ activities, will be held in the maternity ward with 14 expectant Ewe’s (mama sheep), and a calf crèche for the baby cows. It will be a great learning experience for the little ones, and you may even get to see a live birth!

Reaseheath Lambing Weekends
Live lambing Reaseheath lambing weekends where the college opens to the public. See the lambs being born and tickets include entry to Reaseheath Zoo too. (Nantwich) 16th – 17th March 2024
Blaze Farm
The lambing season at Blaze Farm, near Macclesfield will take place Friday 29th March until Sunday 14th April
The Lambing Shed
The Lambing Shed Farm Shop and Kitchen is set in over 400 acres of Cheshire farmland. At the lambing weekends visitors will get to meet, hold and learn all about the lambs. 2024 tbc(Knutsford)
Tatton Park
Tatton Park have a special lambing week this year, when Farm staff share their expertise with visitors, giving informative talks at the lambing shed. Learn how they spot the signs of lambing and how they look after sheep and care for lambs during this extra special time. (Knutsford) 5th – 12th April closed Monday

Lambing Live is back at Park Hall Countryside Experience for February half term 10th – 18th Feb (Oswestry)
Windmill Animal Farm
Windmill Animal Farm lambing is on throughout Feb and half term. Get up and close to the action in the lambing barn and you can even help bottle feed the lambs (Burscough)
Mrs Dowsons
Mrs Dowsons Ice Cream and Open Farm has a live lambing event. Help the farmer’s bottle-feed orphan lambs in the lambing nursery, meet the new arrivals and explore the barns and fields. (Clayton-Le-Dale) select dates 9th March – 8th May
Millbrook Farm
